The names of the months of Shaka Samvat and Vikram Samvat are the same and both have Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha. The only difference is in the start of both sides. In Vikram Samvat, the new month is from the Krishna Paksha that comes after the full moon, while in Shak Samavat, the new month starts from the Shukla Paksha after Amavasya. For this reason, there is a difference in the dates of the beginning of these seasons.
In this panchang we are providing Today’s Tihi. Let’s know about Today’s Tithi. Tithi is called date. The difference between the other date and the Tithi is that it can start at any time of the day or night. It is related to the excursion to the constellation of Chandra. According to the Hindu calendar, 30 days of the month are divided into 2 sides of 15 days each on the basis of lunar art – Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha. The last day of Shukla Paksha is called Purnima and the last day of Krishna Paksha is Amavasya.
Yoga is formed by combining the apparent planetary motion of the Moon and the Sun daily. When the fractional distance of the Moon and the Sun is 13 degrees 20 when a part of Kala is completed, it is called a Yoga.
Half of the date is called Karan. When the moon completes 6 degrees, then one Karana is complete. A date has two Karanas – one in the first half and one in the latter.
The group of certain stars in our sky is called Nakshatra. There are 27 types of constellations. Nakshatra is very important in astrology. Let us tell you that the moon transits one by one in these 27 constellations, and the day that the moon transits in the constellation (Nakshatra) is the same constellation.
The zodiac in which the Sun currently resides is called the Sun sign. Similarly, The zodiac in which the Moon currently resides is called the Moon sign. The Sun sign shows the personality of any person while the Moon sign indicates other important aspects of the horoscope.
Rahukaal varies according to the place and date, that is, every day begins at a different time. This period sometimes comes in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon and in the evening, but falls before sunset. The time of Rahukaal is one and a half hours. According to Vedic scriptures, one should avoid starting auspicious work in this time period.
The true length of a day is considered to be from one sunrise to another sunrise in the Hindu calendar. So, the time of sunrise and sunset assume great importance when astrology or Jyotish is referred to. All important decisions are taken only after considering the position of the Sun and Moon.
